[Review] Philips Hue White and Color Ambiance A19
I got two 4-bulb starter kits several months back, and I have to say these Philips Hue White and Color light bulbs are exceptional. I happened to install Google Home in our house just a few days before I got these smart bulbs. They work seamlessly together.
I set these up within minutes. You simply install them as you would any ordinary light bulb. The bulbs fit standard table lamps and overhead lights. Afterwards, you have to plug in the bridge, run the Philips Hue App on your device, and you’re good to go.
What I find impressive is that a single bridge can control all bulbs. I have 4 of these in our living room downstairs, another 2 in our master bedroom, and the last 2 in my son’s room upstairs. Even with just one bridge, I can easily control the bulbs and switch up the color schemes. Normally, the app quickly detects bulbs that are near the bridge. If you do have difficulty pairing them, you can enter the serial number printed on the bulbs.
The Philips Hue App is very easy to use. I use my iPhone and iPad to wirelessly control the lights. It’s convenient to set schedules for when the lights would turn on and off.
The built-in color schemes of the smart bulbs are fun to explore. But if you want to get creative, you can select the colors on your own. It is also fun to mix and match the colors of two or more bulbs in one room. I like how the color of the bulbs can instantly change the mood of the room. I like dimming the lights when we’re watching the television, and brightening them up when I’m reading. If your eyes hurt when you read with a bright light, this bulb is made for you. You can customize the brightness of the white light to your liking.
Even if you just use the bulbs for their white light, you’ll be impressed with the range of brightness and the shades of white they can emit. However, what I like the most is that you can sync the lights to your music. I can also match the color schemes based on what movie we’re watching or game my son is playing.
Great Value for Money
I can see no downside to these Philips Hue White and Color light bulbs except that they’re expensive. I don’t mind that though. I personally like to use Philips for my house’s lighting. The brand is known for its long-lasting products, so their special price makes perfect sense. Believe me when I say that this is definitely worth your money.
I am absolutely excited to expand my collection of smart lights. You should start yours! You can start with a 3-bulb starter kit if you want. I’m sure you’ll find yourself wanting to buy more. – Christina M
